IRD and Bank Account Application in NZ

First day in Auckland, it is definitely not a lucky day for us. We planned to apply our IRD and open our bank account on this day but we ended up with nothing completed. Why? The Post shop located in Queen Street did not want to accept our translate license which issued and verified by OUR OWN GORVENMENT. They just accept those translated by their recognized body. License that issued by our country and translate by our government is not accepted but license issued by our country and translate by them is being accepted. Ridiculous huh? We had made a lot of calls and even walked here and there just to get our things done. Yet, we couldn’t complete them on the day. We feel so down because obstacles exist on the first day we landed in NZ. After doing the ‘research and survey’ on the same night, we found the way and everything was done on the following day. We still proceed our IRD application in Post Shop but this round was the one located in K road. Yes, same procedure, same action but this post shop accept it.Backpackers, except from Post shop, you may apply in AA as well, they do accept our translate license.

For the bank account application, it is rather straight forward. But you need to make an appointment earlier. (Kiwi Bank is exceptional). Their banking system is quite different from ours. Opening a bank account is a big deal in NZ and only managers are qualified to open bank account for customer. Their style of banking is each customer advised to open 2 accounts, 1 is called everyday account and 1 is the fast saver account. Everyday account is just same like our saving account but the atm card can used as debit everywhere with 4 digit pin code to key in. No interest will be given for everyday account. On the other hand, fast saver account is like our fixed deposit. They will treat this account as saving and only transfer the money to everyday account when the balance left is little.

After everything was done, our mood totally changed to a relax mode. Here are the photos in Auckland city.

Basically, Auckland is full with Asian. You may see Japanese restaurant, Korea restaurant is even more than western food restaurant.

If you come to NZ, you must try their ice cream, it is very nice~ This is the shop that we had our ice cream - Giapo, located at Queen Street, Auckland.

The one with dark brown colour is Organic Makacchino. Dark chocolate + organic coffee with nut. Yummy~~

The famous City Tower, landmark of Auckland.

Life in Auckland

Finally, I am landed in New Zealand. My dream to stay in other country finally comes true. Yeah~ Different life style, different environment, different culture, a new chapter of life for me. So, on 11 May, I took the Jet Star from KLIA transit to Singapore and ended up I reached Auckland in 12 May. 10 hours flight definitely was the longest flight time that I had ever taken. Inside the flight was freaking cold and I even took out my winter clothes and served as blanket.

We reached Auckland airport at around 10am! After that we were undergone all the checking. The custom officer checked all our medicine that we declared thoroughly (as many people advised us to declare). Sadly, my Teck Aun pill was being confiscated because it consists of certain ingredient which is prohibited by NZ government. Because of that, I was being questioned and we stayed there for almost 1 hour. Anyhow, the officer was very friendly and we were being released after that. Backpackers, if you want to bring chinese medicine over, just make sure there is no English label on it. :P Besides, you may apply for your Vodaphone Sim card at the air port.

There was something I must stress on is NO SHEEP in front of the airport!!! I remembered somebody told me that the moment we stepped out from the air port we can see SHEEP. Don’t Cheap me! Now I know there is no sheep !! . After that we took a bus to the city area.

The bus was well equipped with rack so that people like us can put our luggage on it. The bus driver will even tell you which hostel is near to which station.

We stayed in a backpacker hostel called K Road City Traveller. This hostel was definitely clean and comfortable! Facilities were well equipped.

This is our room.

Washing Machine area.

Corner for reading.

Kitchen area.

Bath room.

PC for online.

Breakfast and wifi was provided. Internet access in New Zealand is definitely expensive. $50 for 2G per month. If you ever travel in Auckland, u can consider this place. Thumbs up!!

Japanese Restaurant in Bukit Mertajam (回香)

Since the day I tendered my resignation letter, we are having more and more activities together. Today, it was one of the count down dinner (I called it as count down dinner because this practise only started recently). We found a Japanese restaurant in Bukit Mertajam which serves scrumptious Japanese + Korean Food.

This is the restaurant.

I would say the food served are averagely good. Picture speaks louder than word. Let me just show the food that we had.
Kimchi Porridge, a very unique meal.

Kimchi Ramen~ I would said this is the best Kimchi Ramen that I had tried.

This rice consists of meat and vegetables. I had forgotten the name of this food. Yaya.. I know I'm not a good blogger, since I just started  back my engine for blogging, please bear with my weaknesses. :P

Ramen again~ Although it is not in spicy flavour yet it is still tasty with slight over salty. The egg served together is delicious, the timing for cooking is just nice.

Sushi with special texture, crunchy outside and tasty inside. Thumbs up!

This is rather normal but I like it is not oily at all~

Egg with mayo on top. Very soft and and slight sweet flavour.

Last but not least, thanks to you all for the dinner~I cherish the moment a lot.

New Layout~

For those of you who used to follow my blog, you might noticed that the layout and design of my blog was changed. Why? The blog had been certified death for quite some times and now I want to make it alive again~

The reason is very simple. I am gonna have a totally different type of life in the next 1 month times. I had resigned from my current job and I hopped into working holiday in New Zealand. YES! Working holiday!! This is really something new and I want to share with you what's going to happen on me in this coming 6 months time (Ya, I'm going to stay in New Zealand for 6 months). Some of the people said I was crazy, letting go my career path and spoil my own future. The high management in my company even told me I'm going to regret for my decision when I grow wiser. But, I am still adhere to my decision. I believe every person has their own unique of thinking, their own destination and especially their own dream to achieve.

I have a dream to go out the world and explore the world. I always feel that I was caught in a small place and I couldn't step out and experience the oversea life. Many of my friends telling me that what they did, what they  saw while they were studying/ working oversea. Every story sounds so special and unique to me!! I want to experience it as well!! I have never have the idea what is the feeling of speaking English every moment when you open your mouth, I do not know how open minded the Caucasian is, I do not know what is the feeling during winter time. Now, there is a chance right in front of me, allow me to stay oversea and experience it. At the same time, it just take half year time from me for this, how could I let go this golden opportunity????

What do you think?

My Birthday wish list

This year actually I didn't think of any wish list. However, one of my friend called me up and asked why I didn't prepare a wish list like last year. Another friend of mine also asked the same question. Now only I noticed my freinds are straight forward type. Haha.. all of them prefer I prepare a wish list.

After I considered for a long long time, the following are my wish list.

1) Luggage bag
I think I need a bigger size of luggage bag for me to travel. My current bag is not big enough. 28 inches size will be the best. I like Pierre Cardin/ Elle brand. Their quality are good. OK fine, I think most of you feeling wanna beat me when I mentioned this present.

2) Aqua Label Enhancer ( Red )
I saw a lot of ppl recommend this product. Aqua Label Enhancer.. I would like to try.. My face need enhancer... moisture moisture..I think this cost RM50++

3) Laptop Bag
I need a smaller laptop bag. In fact, I saw a nice one in gurney, Alain Delon Brand, Black in colour was displayed in the middle of gurney (some where in front Timberland shop). It just cost RM50~~ Only 1 laptop bag was displayed. No hand carry type please.

4) Long necklace
A simple long necklace will be fine. For matching clothes purpose since I don't have any at the moment.

5) Purse

I seriously need a purse as the compartment for putting the coins were broken. However, I still can't find a suitable purse for myself. I need a purse with coin compartment, a lot of slots to place card, preferably 2 compartments to put cash. I prefer a short purse instead of a long 1. Ok, I know I'm fussy..

6) Origin eye cream

My eye cream finished... however this cost RM129...

7) Ear Warmer

I'm going for a trip soon. It will be very cold very cold. Who want to sponsor me this??? I need one. Please buy a nice one. If you wish to buy this, please it pass to me before 11 Nov...

8) Hair accessory

Any hair accessory will do. Even a hair band which can use for dinner can be acceptable.

9) Clothes and etc
OKla, I know most of the items i post up is costly. So any present I'll still accept happily.. haha..
