<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I would say this is the best chinese restaurant that I've ever have in Penang. Yes, BEST! I'm not lying, not exaggerating, simply telling the truth. Most of the time, when we go to certain good restaurants, there will be some famous dishes which are really taste good., on the other hand, there will be also some food served which you feel it is just '<i>so-so</i>'. It is so hard to find a restaurant with ALL types of dishes that served are EQUALLY GOOD!! And, I found it with my new colleagues.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnttptx5T_HMouzmVqDPJaXWF5u2FuRhHc190eaFamiTPSX-GNSvdqEltklkVmAWHGnhtwrwxfvl4IVOG9zM0QyqgbVEzZMBXO0cpJ6UuDUizt39J5NvITLhCgx-gnOCNQFYFWV3pVrCk/s1600/IMG_8310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnttptx5T_HMouzmVqDPJaXWF5u2FuRhHc190eaFamiTPSX-GNSvdqEltklkVmAWHGnhtwrwxfvl4IVOG9zM0QyqgbVEzZMBXO0cpJ6UuDUizt39J5NvITLhCgx-gnOCNQFYFWV3pVrCk/s640/IMG_8310.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the entrance of the restaurant. If your eye sight are good enough, you can see the sentence 'Awarded - Best Chinese cuisine restaurant 2010-2012'. Actually, they won the award not only in Malaysia, but also in London. See? I don't lie, it's no point having a food blog promoting all sort of food no matter it's good or bad.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is how the interior looks like, so grand and splendid. The feeling is just like stepping in a 5 star hotel restaurant. Normally, chinese restaurant doesn't decorate in such a way. The food in this restaurant is inclined to fine dining style. That day, we ordered the package of food, just like how we had during chinese wedding dinner. (But the portion and the amount of dishes served were far more than those typical chinese wedding dinner)</div>

The complete version before wrap up. Pay attention to the top of the photo! Yes, Small chilies, and I ATE it! For those friends who know me well, I don't eat spicy food, and I don't even take chilies sauce. But, this is the food that you HAVE TO put at least 1-2 pieces of chilies and it makes great difference of taste. What's the magic inside? Taste it and you will understand.</div>

That was the place that we had our lovely dinner. Life is so wonderful when you sit in such a decant restaurant with great food and great view, and most important with a group of wonderful people.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
It might be costly, but it is definitely worth for the cost. You must try at least once and you will understand!</div>

<i>I missed out this important place in the previous blog posts regarding the South Island Trip. And, actually I noticed long time ago, laziness just drove me away from writing it. In order to complete my NZ diaries for my own SS (syok sendiri) in the future when I read it back, so I have no choice but to write it. Of course, I also hope to provide more information to those who are interested to have a trip to NZ.</i></div>

Early in the morning, before we proceed to the next destination, we went to this <i>must go </i>place -Moeraki Boulder ( 30 minutes away from Oamaru). If you wish the see the most stunning view of the place, you have to confirm the best time with <i>i site</i> because you might have a hard time to look for a single 'ball' when it is high tide. Yes, doing homework is always important if you doesn't want to miss something great.</div>

Of course, since the big sign board mentioned Roasedt duck and this must be the dish that shouldn't miss out! The crispy and juicy roasted duck which served together with yummy dark sauce. (Yes, the lousy blogger forget to snap a picture on the important sauce) Remember choose the lower part (drumstick part) of the roast duck as that part is always the best.</div>

Asam Fish - <i>RM5.00 per piece</i><br />
<i><br /></i><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Except for the typical dishes like roast duck, roast chicken, barbecued pork, there are a few ala carte dishes like the economic rice for you to choose. Something that gonna surprise you is the asam fish in this restaurant is tempting!! From the picture, you can see that the fish is the normal <i>kampung </i>fish but the best part to make it seductive is the rich, sourly asam gravy. Half bowl of your rice will be finished by just this average look Asam Fish.</div>

Pamelo Juice - <i>RM6.00</i></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Lastly, a juice that I want to recommend is this pamelo juice. Everyone knows pamelo is the fruits that famous in Ipoh. Most of the outstation people willing to come Ipoh to grab some pamelo especially during the Chinese New Year. But, this is the first shop that I know selling Pamelo juice!! The juice is so fresh and the taste is exactly same with the taste when you are eating the pamelo. Of course, the quality might be varied due to the different qualities of every pamelo. Except for the <i>slight</i> expensive cost for the cup, else this is gonna a choice~</div>

Yes, the best fish head mee hoon restaurant. Whenever we talked about fish head mee hoon, we will automatically relate it with this shop, it is just like whenever you talk about oranges, you will think of Sunkist. I rarely eat fish head mee hoon simply because the taste doesn't induce me much. However, the fish head mee hoon in this restaurant is really attracted me. And I often have my breakfast here.</div>

The best part for the whole dish is the soup!! The soup is really tempting with the sweet and sourly taste (due to salted vegetable) and you can't resist by keep on slurping the soup. Yummy~ If you prefer to have a more traditional one, you may request to add the evaporated milk. </div>

One thing to beware is the portion of the Meehoon is really big, ladies like me who have a small little stomach<strike> only during in the morning </strike> can order 2 bowls for three person instead of everyone get one. I can never finish one big bowl even though after years visited to this shop.

The shop was overwhelming with a lot of customers and that made us waited for around 20-30 minutes to sit in. I'm not sure whether this happens every weekend or everyone just discover the shop at the same time. There is one special rule in this shop, do not ever try to tell the waiter '5 people' with only your presence alone, they won't allow you to sit in except everyone turn up physically.</div>

Beacon Point, the cafe that I wanted to try for quite some times. I was being unlucky, I went twice yet failed to taste the food. Once during Chinese New Year and once during Sunday. Yes, it closed on both days even it was a Sunday. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
However, my luck wasn't too bad, finally I got the chance to step in the cafe.</div>

The decoration is like the home style cafe. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Something out of my surprise was the cafe actually didn't have too much choices for the main course. Yes, this cafe is more incline to the afternoon tea style with various types of cakes, bread and pastry choices. Anyhow, they do offer three different set lunch everyday. During the day of my visit, the set lunch choices given were chicken, pasta and mix grill.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The set lunch consists of soup + main course + dessert + coffee/tea. I would say their prices offered for set lunch are very reasonable. It would be a good choice for you if you like to have different kind of food for meal.</div>

I've heard of their famous Fish and Chip and due to that we purposely order to have a taste on this. The appearance definitely different with typical Fish & Chips. This is more likely to a snack. But, something disappoint me was the fish served was not fresh at all. Even it was deep fried yet we can taste the <i>unfreshness </i>of the fish. And, we just able to finish two pieces out of the whole bucket. Sorry.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Since I come back to Ipoh, there are a few friends around me keep on talking about 'Secret Garden'. What is that so special about this restaurant?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Finally, I had a chance to walk in this restaurant and try the food. Please bear with the photo quality as I took the photos with my stupid phone and that was the best quality I can captured <strike>with my lousy technique</strike>.</div>

Search this out when you are in the restaurant and tell me. :P<br />

Got this from my friend's GPS recently. This was our South Island trip after we worked hard for few months. The best reward for ourselves during the working holiday. It just like a dream for me, it seems so fake when we looked back but it was truly happened! That was the first time I called myself backpacker, that was the first time I stepped out Malaysia with guts and undoubtedly, that was the first time I being so far from Malaysia and stayed in another country for such a long time.<br />
<br />
During this trip, we drove 3500km in 14 days with our own car. Amazing! Luckily there were 4 drivers in the car, taking turn to drive definitely allowed everyone had enough energy to explore around New Zealand. I would said the first day was the craziest day which we drove 593km with about 8 hours driving. However, this definitely the most wonderful trip I've ever been. We planned the whole trip by ourselves, drove around by car, explored around, and used the least fund to complete it! Yes, I believe this gonna be the best story I'll tell my grandchildren in the future. 'Hey, your grandmother went for working holiday and did the <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-first-bungy-jump-kuwarau-bridge.html" target="_blank">bungy jump</a> and <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-taupo-skydive-video.html" target="_blank">sky diving</a>!'Hui Yihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11539708399837826675noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8177381897398257369.post-12123048654819360652012-03-07T12:31:00.002+08:002012-03-07T22:38:16.975+08:00Top 10 Items to Bring for Working HolidayLet me list out 10 items which you <span style="color: red;">might not thinking of bringing it</span> along but it plays an crucial role in your New Zealand Working Holiday. Bear in mind, this is <span style="color: #cc0000;">NOT</span> the top 10 important items to bring.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfgrgfCmC14YZW7sAEkHx0M_JrUvEJMM3DmlmwVZGka6csKetwN5cmL-1hn64j5w4xkOndKZ9gwPS0cCB0wUp_9fvv9ys5TR1exB4d-NwYNQBv1xwt2dfFgptmfu1L_3uuxezeJGyWZO0/s1600/IMG_7748.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfgrgfCmC14YZW7sAEkHx0M_JrUvEJMM3DmlmwVZGka6csKetwN5cmL-1hn64j5w4xkOndKZ9gwPS0cCB0wUp_9fvv9ys5TR1exB4d-NwYNQBv1xwt2dfFgptmfu1L_3uuxezeJGyWZO0/s320/IMG_7748.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 0px;" /></a><br />
1) Day Pack<br />
I would says 99% people will go for hiking/ walk during your working holiday. There are simply too much walkway for us to explore. A good quality day pack is important for you to bring along your necessity and the most important is it will make you more comfortable during your hiking.<br />

This is definitely a good helper for you a long trip! It allows you to have more (instead a lot) space to pack your things! But bear in mind, it doesn't reduce the weight of your items. :) You can buy it at Daiso, Ace Hardware or some traveller's shop. It just cost RM5-10 each.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

Passport, credit card!!! Although New Zealand is a country famous with its good security, it is better always to be careful. Bring your passport together with u all the time with this belt. You never know what kind of people are with you especially in the backpackers hostel. Yes, I am coward type, I even hug it when I slept in backpackers. This is slim and adjustable, just hide it underneath your clothes. It cost around RM20. Get it at traveller's shop like Rofina.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

Remember to bring enough skin care for your whole trip!! The variety of skin care in New Zealand is very limited. If you don't mind to risk your face with unfamiliar product, leave this in Malaysia.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEize0V_zRSs1t4xK_mICYc2Bejz2CYTXZPDeLVi85T92PyuhbblFwcuRajoFMpbN6Ejz2PVHNhXHIV1RH3BJe-y6_Mxan4bAWVHkj4dk1vZnJL_MkSQwiVDsz2PFbcBVf0pCFOUcXS6rv4/s1600/Sun+play.jpg" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEize0V_zRSs1t4xK_mICYc2Bejz2CYTXZPDeLVi85T92PyuhbblFwcuRajoFMpbN6Ejz2PVHNhXHIV1RH3BJe-y6_Mxan4bAWVHkj4dk1vZnJL_MkSQwiVDsz2PFbcBVf0pCFOUcXS6rv4/s320/Sun+play.jpg" style="clear: both; float: left; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 0px;" /></a>5) Sun Block<br />
If you wish to use sun block with more than SPF50, bring it from Malaysia. There is no such thing in New Zealand. Sun block is important because the UV here is extremely high. Don't torture your skin.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQZ09GQArbS5GZ_69uTGUmvfvGOU4hrUOVLWXvI989JieXqr-W7gMnuXtizrHcRh_N-E-F_Yb5LkGg0ZnerY1Ay_B-jj10ApCqS_1rBl7OXKroP4SNFBqKLZmy5c6p0n7znMyTqt235R8/s1600/IMG_7766.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQZ09GQArbS5GZ_69uTGUmvfvGOU4hrUOVLWXvI989JieXqr-W7gMnuXtizrHcRh_N-E-F_Yb5LkGg0ZnerY1Ay_B-jj10ApCqS_1rBl7OXKroP4SNFBqKLZmy5c6p0n7znMyTqt235R8/s320/IMG_7766.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 0px;" /></a>6) Sun Glasses<br />
Not for beauty purpose, the UV here is simply too high, sometimes you will feel your eyes are uncomfortable after have a long walk outdoor. Love your eyes.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

I must emphasize on this! It is very very very very hard to find a rubber band in NZ which kiwis don't have the habit of tying up their food (biscuits, potato chips). You will need it when your food / ingredients need to tied up. Bring 1 pack of rubber band to NZ!!!<br />
<br />
<br />

8) Counter Pain<br />
This will be your best mate if you work outdoor. Even you do not work outdoor, you will need it after some great hiking (Tongariro Alpine Crossing!!! 8 hours of hike)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
9) Hair Dryer<br />
Bring this along if you wanna pass your Working Holiday during winter time (even spring/ autumn cause it's gonna be cold). You will love this when you are cold and with wet hair!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

Buy or not?Many people asked me 'Do I need a travel insurance for my NZ working holiday?' Some people might say 'No, don't waste your money on it'. 'Hey, it's gonna cost you few hundred Ringgit for nothing!;<br />
<br />
But, if you ask my opinion, I'll definitely say <span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b>YES</b></span>. Don't save on that few hundred Ringgit and you gonna to pay more than that if anything bad happen!<br />
<br />
Why you need it? It is just like the normal personal insurance that you bought in Malaysia. So, ask yourself, why you bought insurance? Because you doesn't want to bear with debt when you meet an accident or when you fall sick.<br />
<br />
This theory is just same with why I recommend people to buy a travel insurance. You'll never predict what is going to happen during your working holiday, especially in a country which is not familiar with. I am a very good live example, I also never predict that I'll meet an <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/11/ive-back-to-malaysia.html" target="_blank">accident</a> in New Zealand! Don't tell me 'Oh, you are bad luck, I won't be undergone the same incident like you!' Don't bull sxxx. Nobody going to predict what is going to happen in the future. If yes, then there is no such thing called 'accident'.<br />
<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDRqA0CwVtZB9x99DHUVNkxKIL0qoCFf9IDHbK4PRjZCITwpd-hzpx5Z-lDOtCO_mH7geAZ5b0QF4ypfTosoP3WJ2so0rv8tn5ee8bPUYbw3TVR0Nhh3Ela_1Up8Cu9A77Dw6NkiNZ2HU/s640/P1110630.JPG" />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Yes, <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-to-do-when-you-meet-accident-in-nz.html" target="_blank">ACC</a> do cover our medical expenses if we meet an accident in New Zealand. But they never cover for those who fall sick in New Zealand. The medical fees in NZ is terribly expensive! Before you able to see the doctor, registration fees charge you about NZD70, any further treatment is not covered yet and you need to pay for medicine somemore. How about if you lost your beloved DSLR camera/ laptop?<br />
<br />
I met a lot of people facing different problems during their working holiday, some fall sick seriously because they are not used to the weather, some lost their passport, some dropped their camera/laptop and spoilt it. So, what you gonna do with it when you face this? Nah, that is just my bad luck. No!!! Buy a travel insurance and they gonna pay for you/ replace the them!<br />
<br />
Besides that, if you are landed in New Zealand and you wish to buy a travel insurance there, you may visit <a href="http://travelnzinsurance.com/new-zealand-working-holiday-insurance?producer=c2m%20%20%20http://travelnzinsurance.com/new-zealand-working-holiday-insurance?producer=c2m" target="_blank">Orbit Protector</a>. (Thanks for a reader provide this information). This travel insurance is specifically design for those who go for working holiday.<br />
<br />
So, wanna spend on it or not? It is rare to have a carnival in Perak, especially Gopeng. Staying at home everyday is kind of bored. So, I went to this carnival to have a walk - the RTC canival in Gopeng.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ny7i46YdzMloYJppGS7gVXyokh0Gz0XKvmNhYBcbm025EAxAOe1UOIKI8N1ROoi5AIacJEwxFsBFajliR1lp_7AVntoxNwXzePwrou-J54nqUw1GZJbkjtantqfGBN8wUH_1llGVPn0/s1600/C360_2012-02-19-10-04-07_org.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="384" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ny7i46YdzMloYJppGS7gVXyokh0Gz0XKvmNhYBcbm025EAxAOe1UOIKI8N1ROoi5AIacJEwxFsBFajliR1lp_7AVntoxNwXzePwrou-J54nqUw1GZJbkjtantqfGBN8wUH_1llGVPn0/s640/C360_2012-02-19-10-04-07_org.jpg" width="640" /></a> </div>
<br />
When we talked about carnival, sometimes,' <i>pasar malam with lots of food stalls'</i> kind of image appears in our mind. No, you are wrong. This carnival was totally different!! Lot of treasure to expose!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
This was really surprise me, the carnival was really huge!! If you have time, you can spend up to whole day in the carnival!! Why this kind of carnival was rarely organised?????<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
Of course, a carnival was expected with lots of.. booths.<br />

It is just like buying a piece of cake in bakery shop. No cheat! You just need to fill up a form and pay the previous owner and the car is yours!!<br />
<br />
How to search for a car?<br />
1) Check notices on notice board in supermarket (Count Down, New World, Pak n Save), or backpackers hostel or notice board in factories.<br />
2) Check in <a href="http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars" target="_blank">Trade me</a>.<br />
3) Check in <a href="http://www.backpackers.com.tw/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=166">Backpackers.com</a>.<br />
4) Check in Facebook.<br />
5) Through friends.<br />
<br />
What to do before buying a car?<br />
1) Check the car condition (tyres, brakes, campbell, lights and etc)<br />
2) Check the expiry date for WOF. (Warrant of Fitness). Preferably 3-4 months before expiry date. Or else, request owner to renew it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowJUzGgghNOIQfsANBRHyWXMv_LL1JIReCGxY0LYfcW05JppCDpAYkwb1rJZ7puSV8tN8Oywl8-xmra49yCXYiYn9i8eseFD1ZaMF3AOr7qoaKigcLq7-rzqh7hIrkS8lDPh6IMtlLSM/s1600/WOF.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowJUzGgghNOIQfsANBRHyWXMv_LL1JIReCGxY0LYfcW05JppCDpAYkwb1rJZ7puSV8tN8Oywl8-xmra49yCXYiYn9i8eseFD1ZaMF3AOr7qoaKigcLq7-rzqh7hIrkS8lDPh6IMtlLSM/s1600/WOF.gif" /></a></div>
<br />
3) Check the expiry date for license. (some sort like our Road tax).<br />
<br />
How to buy a car?<br />
1) Go to post sh<span style="font-family: inherit;">op and fill up '<span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">Notice by person acquiring motor vehicle' form</span><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"> (MR13B) .</span></span><br />
<span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">2) Show your passport and pay the notice of acquisition fee of $9.41 (including GST)</span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12px;">.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;">3) Pay the owner with cash.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;">What to do after buying a car!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;">1) Straight away send to workshop and service! Never save money on this because you never know how the previous owner treat the car. Safety is the most important!! You never wish accident ruin your working holiday!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;">2) Buy a third party insurance! You can buy it in <a href="http://www.aa.co.nz/insurance/car-and-vehicle-insurance/third-party-car-insurance/">AA</a>, <a href="http://www.bbh.co.nz/default.aspx?pid=15">BBH</a>, or <a href="http://www.threesistersgifts.co.nz/Category.aspx?CategoryId=129">three sister gift shop</a>.</span></span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="line-height: 19px;"> - </span><span style="line-height: 19px;">Buying a used car in New Zealand is not really expensive. So even there is any accident happen to our car, the car doesn't really worth a lot. But, if you hit somebody's EXPENSIVE car, that's the trouble comes! So, third party insurance will cover the damage of the car that party. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 19px; text-align: left;">After all this done and you may enjoy your trip with your car~</span></span><br />

Trolley bag??Backpack??? Trolley bag?? What should I bring for working holiday???I am a backpacker so I should bring a backpack? It's gonna kill me with a 70L backpack but it definitely not enough for me if I bring a smaller one!! Help!~!!~ Twist a coin to decide?<br />
<br />
No, that is not a wise choice. Of course, the best choice will be different to everyone. Some people might suit to bring a backpack and some prefer a trolley bag<br />
<br />
<br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 634px;">
<colgroup><col style="mso-width-alt: 6729; mso-width-source: userset; width: 138pt;" width="184"></col>
<col style="mso-width-alt: 4864; mso-width-source: userset; width: 100pt;" width="133"></col>
<col style="mso-width-alt: 11593; mso-width-source: userset; width: 238pt;" width="317"></col>
</colgroup><tbody>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt; width: 138pt;" width="184"></td>
<td style="width: 100pt;" width="133">Backpack</td>
<td style="width: 238pt;" width="317">Trolley Bag</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Conveniency while moving</td>
<td>Sure!</td>
<td>Not so convenient when going upstair</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Storing item</td>
<td>Require technique</td>
<td>Can simply throw stuff in</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Easy to find stuff in bag</td>
<td>Harder</td>
<td>Easy</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Less weight on body</td>
<td>Heavy!!!</td>
<td>No~</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Security</td>
<td>Low</td>
<td>High (With lock)</td>
</tr>
<tr height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">
<td height="20" style="height: 15.0pt;">Other Usage</td>
<td>As a pillow? </td>
<td>As a table </td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
As a conclusion,<br />
Backpack suit for someone who loves convenient and mobility, and able to carry backpack with long time. (although backpack with good design do reduce the feeling of weight but with a big backpack like 70L, you still feel the weight especially after long walk!!)<br />
<br />
Trolley bag suit for those who scare the weight of backpack will kill them and do not mind with little hassle during travelling.<br />
<br />
So, what was my choice?<br />
small backpack (38L) + 22 inches luggage bag. I never regret of my choice after months of travelling. luggage bag allows me to walk further and the small back pack is useful especially for day trip/ hiking.<br />

There are two ways for you to do your refund,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1) Go to the IRD office directly.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Just do an appointment with them and bring along your return flight ticket detail, Summary of your total earning (which you can print from your IRD online account), and passport. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2) Do it online.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Due to my <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/11/ive-back-to-malaysia.html" target="_blank">sudden return to Malaysia</a>, I was not able to go to IRD office to settle my tax refund. Therefore, I do it online. It is quite simple, just go to the IRD website, print out the form <a href="http://www.ird.govt.nz/forms-guides/number/forms-800-899/ir886-form-nz-tax-res.html" target="_blank">IR886</a>, fill it up and post it out before you leave New Zealand. They will post the tax return form to your home address in Malaysia. Again, fill it up and post out. It took almost 2 months time for me to get my tax refund.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Simple right? Remember to settle your refund when you complete your working holiday. That's your money.</div>

Why?? There is a belief in Chinese that during this day in lunar calender, 立春,which is the first day of Spring, the egg can stand up without falling. Some even said the egg can only be stood up in this day.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Of course, I must experiment and try to check on this statement!!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And the result was........................................</div>

So every bank has different types of charges on different items. Bank in New Zealand is far different with banks in Malaysia. For examples, Bank A might consists of monthly charges, Bank B might consists of charges when you do any transaction at counter and etc. It too lazy for me to list out all the charges and differences of those banks as you can check it in the link above. I think the best choice is to share what kind of account I opened in New Zealand and the reason.<br />
<br />
_________________________________________________________________________________<br />
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Everyday Account</span></u></b><br />
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></u></b><br />
Kiwi bank is my choice in New Zealand.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd1ooYroMJ6XFxM5dstqmc-LVhD1Ft5oHnD72TzW4_nxeAmjqUfdQ7UcWc9dCTCLFTQb_-LIYNTEyjc2BRWe-oMx9blv7DjXHyxmJP86VlNA0YrdsmKlMRfku7fSswEldXmkEehdyQaQE/s1600/nzpost_kiwibank_FS3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd1ooYroMJ6XFxM5dstqmc-LVhD1Ft5oHnD72TzW4_nxeAmjqUfdQ7UcWc9dCTCLFTQb_-LIYNTEyjc2BRWe-oMx9blv7DjXHyxmJP86VlNA0YrdsmKlMRfku7fSswEldXmkEehdyQaQE/s400/nzpost_kiwibank_FS3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Why I choose Kiwi Bank???<br />
1) Kiwibank is available all over New Zealand, from big city to small little town. Most of the time, kiwibank sticks together with Postshop (which we called as post office in Malaysia). By having this bank, I never had the problem of couldn't find the bank.<br />
2) There is no monthly charges for the account. Everything can done online and it is free~~ Yeah, I love free stuff~<br />
3) I can transfer my money to another bank account. Why I need this. Carry on reading and you will know why.<br />
<br />
The type of account I opened in Kiwi bank is called 'Everyday account'. Basically every bank will offer you this type of account where it is almost the same like our saving account.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Everyday Account = Saving account</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Of course, there are differences in these 2 accounts.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1) They will give you an ATM card which can act as a debit card. They called it EFTPOS (Electronic Fund Transfer at Point of Sales). What makes it great than debit card is you can swipe it almost EVERYWHERE, from big supermarket to small little shop or even a little tiny stall. Yes, no joke! In addition, you can swipe it regardless the cost of the things that you purchase. How about $0.10? No problem. Nobody will look down on you because of the low cost purchase with EFTPOS, in fact, everybody do that! Of course, 4 digits of password are required.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2)No interest / little interest will be given by this account.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
3) It can even cash out! What does you mean by cash out? You can simply go to a supermarket, purchase a $10 item and tell the cashier 'I want to cash out $100'. Then, they will pay you $100 and charge your account with $110. Amazing right? ATM is not always needed in order to withdraw money.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
_________________________________________________________________________________</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><u>Fast Saver Account</u></span></b><br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><u><br /></u></span></b><br />
Except from Kiwibank, I opened ASB as well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWQAXEVbziVohBbfkfPzXSytVnYnMlMkC0D8pSoy_WTFwY-n8P3M7ruKZMMtu9qcz1ZwSZlNallFUJ0Z6J_aqggMthSEdpHITrLYarzdduEMNBhTWw4Bd3h31DtqBPQd99kYu6oYeA450/s1600/ASB-Bank_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWQAXEVbziVohBbfkfPzXSytVnYnMlMkC0D8pSoy_WTFwY-n8P3M7ruKZMMtu9qcz1ZwSZlNallFUJ0Z6J_aqggMthSEdpHITrLYarzdduEMNBhTWw4Bd3h31DtqBPQd99kYu6oYeA450/s400/ASB-Bank_1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The account I opened called 'Fast saver'. The purpose of opening this account mainly is to earn the interest, which is 3.15%p.a. . Never look down on 3.15%, even our own fix deposit back in Malaysia could not offer that amount of interest.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I set my kiwibank account as my favourite payee (setting the first favourite payee is FOC. and I can transfer my money back to kiwibank when I needed. (transfer from Kiwi bank to ASB is free). Of course, everything need to be done online!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
_________________________________________________________________________________<br />
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Visa Debit Card</span></u></b><br />
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></u></b><br />
When you open an everyday account, the bank personnel will let you choose weather you want a normal EFTPOS card or Visa debit. So, the only different between this two is, visa debit card allows you to purchase something online (like we purchase with credit card). If you open everyday account in Kiwibank, you may request for visa debit as it is free of charge!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
________________________________________________________________________________</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Way to Earn More!!</span></u></b><br />
<br />
Want to earn more?? Open an fix deposit account in Kiwibank called 'Notice Saver'.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
90 days notice - 4.30%p.a.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
32 days notice - 4.10% p.a.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I choose 32 days notice simply because 90 days is too long. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Of course, if you think it's a hassle to open these account and you can just open ONE account. But, for me, I don't mind having a little bit of hassle which allow me to earn more without putting any effort. Choice is yours. Think wise~</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

It's definitely crazy. I still remember during 2011, the quota finished in March and those Ex Working Holiday people shouting that it was too fast to finish! And back in 2010, it took 10 months time to fill up the quota. So, what happen to working holiday? It becomes a trend? Or people start looking forward to see the world outside?<br />
<br />
If I were apply in 2012, I guess I won't be able to go New Zealand anymore. Haha~ Anyway, congratulation to those who are being approved in 2012~your new chapter of life is gonna kick start.<br />
<br />
Since now we r stepping in 2012 and I should said good bye to New Zealand. I might back to New Zealand again another 10 years? Or, I might not returning to New Zealand anymore. So, I would like to sell of my New Zealand item.<br />
<br />

Some of the area in New Zealand is hard to get free internet access and that's the reason I purchase this.<br />
Selling price: NZD 10 /RM25 (stick + Sim card)<br />
<br />
<br />
2) New Zealand Dollar <b><span style="color: red;">SOLD OUT</span></b><br />

I'm taking the middle rate of selling price and buying price. I'm fair right? Currently it should be 2.45 as middle price.<br />

I'm considered lucky because there are neither scar left on my face nor my body from the accident. </div><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">However, SCAR have to be 'created' even though I was able to escape from<i> scar-free</i>. Yes, the answer is operation left me with an obvious 'created' scar.</div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8NJ8n3L2Glf8QumHOML6Q3ODJ_GdApfgg0t1oHZO_GNHFlo468ZxykTmK9BZfdyaujaHE43O2-7cp1mDLE7dEoOw5uKDC-LoTcqRUgZ0xoQhMPPdgqWs8G_1_pFUtjZfRuDpVRDin588/s1600/IMG_6848.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8NJ8n3L2Glf8QumHOML6Q3ODJ_GdApfgg0t1oHZO_GNHFlo468ZxykTmK9BZfdyaujaHE43O2-7cp1mDLE7dEoOw5uKDC-LoTcqRUgZ0xoQhMPPdgqWs8G_1_pFUtjZfRuDpVRDin588/s400/IMG_6848.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>Although the doctor told me that the scar will be fade off with time and eventually it will become not obvious. i don't know how long it going to take and that scar definitely it lower down my self esteem NOW. Whenever I stepped out from the house, I'll try to cover it up either with a scarf or with my hair. So, I officially say 'NO' to short hair again!<br />
<br />
After the wound was completely healed, I applied the <i>famous</i> scar removal - Mederma which I think it is quite effective on my scar area.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOzgrD3vOpxy9EK6ulnSQIvZ1SKnNvXqXSiy-qq6CXwxE4JmhdrEvLTzM7f4WTIqHdLTNFxNLwCrH85tEtXuI6f1Vg-R6cdLwsOM8-J1Vphb23JqLok1Eji7RTxfc1GJ6REQmPMaVX3W4/s1600/IMG_6868.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOzgrD3vOpxy9EK6ulnSQIvZ1SKnNvXqXSiy-qq6CXwxE4JmhdrEvLTzM7f4WTIqHdLTNFxNLwCrH85tEtXuI6f1Vg-R6cdLwsOM8-J1Vphb23JqLok1Eji7RTxfc1GJ6REQmPMaVX3W4/s400/IMG_6868.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used this before and it did soften the scar. Of course, it will only effective with daily application.</div><br />
However, somebody told me that there is another better scar remover which is in gel sheet form. Eagerly to try out the effectiveness, I got it and apply on my scar as written in the manual.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYexYoJM1W-2Mee_uiyFT-NHTILXhThQcqDbjCNYY8mue80_9PMY8EBxqm7EHG1mpgf0OHpLsz9w53ev5IaweZI1crT88s_qMxq_85GWQtYuZl304d-pdi9oSj6eZefuX-sUoKarRXjOM/s1600/IMG_6867.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYexYoJM1W-2Mee_uiyFT-NHTILXhThQcqDbjCNYY8mue80_9PMY8EBxqm7EHG1mpgf0OHpLsz9w53ev5IaweZI1crT88s_qMxq_85GWQtYuZl304d-pdi9oSj6eZefuX-sUoKarRXjOM/s400/IMG_6867.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This thing is really expensive. It is a adhesive gel sheet made from medical grade silicon. The usage is rather simple, just cut it into the desirable size and stick it to the scar area. Repeatedly use it everyday with the time mentioned. Yes, it is reusable until it loss of adhesion or crack around the edges.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>This is how it look like during apply.<br />
<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHMh2-mSpjoeIHK43laZ30xkapTOTddXvMcAhBCOxT38dkV6t75W-kBe7OyPpnPb0OP2QsA6B3Tb5fhcIDWRWYHAi8qYKgEPVeXpehaVvOC95ay2ndrgFwpY9vl0Oor00x12pVMHaPlu8/s1600/IMG_6856.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHMh2-mSpjoeIHK43laZ30xkapTOTddXvMcAhBCOxT38dkV6t75W-kBe7OyPpnPb0OP2QsA6B3Tb5fhcIDWRWYHAi8qYKgEPVeXpehaVvOC95ay2ndrgFwpY9vl0Oor00x12pVMHaPlu8/s400/IMG_6856.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
So, how effective is this? I'm not sure,let me tell you another couple of month. :PHui Yihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11539708399837826675noreply@blogger.com53tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8177381897398257369.post-84915200866605282642011-12-25T18:08:00.006+08:002011-12-27T21:12:58.393+08:00Operation After The AccidentI'm glad that many people around me are concerning what happen to me after the accident. <strike>Or some of them just 'interested' to know about the story??</strike> I was not really mentioned about my injury in my last <a href="http://hhuiyi.blogspot.com/2011/11/ive-back-to-malaysia.html" target="_blank">post</a>. I was thinking not to talk about it and make it into a secret. Of course, this action did not stopped the concern and curiosity of my friends!! Until one day, one of my friend asked 'why don't you post about your injury, so if anyone undergo the same situation like you, your post can be a reference for them' Ya, why not?<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>Due to the accident, I actually got broken neck. yes, BROKEN NECK. There was a small crack on my cervical spine. However, this is not the main concern as Doctor said the bone will grow back by itself after some times. The biggest concern was my cervical became unstable after the accident. That leads to my bone shifted a bit. I guess you don't need any further elaboration what will happen next if nothing done to me. Just think about it, it is cervical spine, the main support of our body. Since the accident, headache was looking for me everyday without failed. The headache was different with the normal, it was pain at the back of my head and the pain level was hard to describe with words. That was the worst headache I had in my life. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Because of the broken neck, I had a big brace with me all the time, including the sleeping time. The only time I could take it off was during my shower time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiQoiZFIkSmIh645K9R25ZrBfxNf7Lbod6w59ep_Vq0QkUrDlHGNDh-D2LhZQHjmncb6VW6sVh0EYjf7OoI2FT9ootUPQIfZYTXFen96HkZihhjfRL7Mt7syx4g9rRLOK2tvuvhM3QSNQ/s1600/IMG_6862.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiQoiZFIkSmIh645K9R25ZrBfxNf7Lbod6w59ep_Vq0QkUrDlHGNDh-D2LhZQHjmncb6VW6sVh0EYjf7OoI2FT9ootUPQIfZYTXFen96HkZihhjfRL7Mt7syx4g9rRLOK2tvuvhM3QSNQ/s400/IMG_6862.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />
Yet, a smaller collar accompany me on that short moment.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkU_sekHyVh-gHpHdgx1jUyBm5pUu-7rto-gC8oJDhaYnzRLjr7gxQs4CpY7HFsOc1Ug0VBZ2uPtZCdvk9661T7BAtnazpszVXC5RrycFzVUgi_sqyM_OvWRRs3DlKI6R4wFq69GAsnV0/s1600/IMG_6859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkU_sekHyVh-gHpHdgx1jUyBm5pUu-7rto-gC8oJDhaYnzRLjr7gxQs4CpY7HFsOc1Ug0VBZ2uPtZCdvk9661T7BAtnazpszVXC5RrycFzVUgi_sqyM_OvWRRs3DlKI6R4wFq69GAsnV0/s400/IMG_6859.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: center;">my best mate since accident</div></div><br />
</div><div>In order to get rid of the problems that I was facing and the problems that may exist in the future, doctors (Yes, I see a few doctors to make sure the decision was right) advised me to go for the operation called 'Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusion'. In short, this operation helps to stable my cervical and REMOVE all the possibilities of being disable.</div><div><br />
</div><div>According to the doctor, the surgery was not consider a major surgery and it just took around 1 hour plus to complete the whole operation. The doctor even comfort me that, nowadays, this surgery is quite common and some of the professional golfer undergo this operation as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi24oChzbVBSIkvd2De6r1bqSZHxB5h_rxCK8vn9FfwuydkECeL_5WSxDnuTGFhLxjDyerYNeSg5cbay4jxQ05NbnEFKM1Lfb1alkupRqQGG-46Oq_tQ_xFHvnBhYwbKxv9mHOoFpR__uA/s1600/C360_2011-11-13+05-58-24.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi24oChzbVBSIkvd2De6r1bqSZHxB5h_rxCK8vn9FfwuydkECeL_5WSxDnuTGFhLxjDyerYNeSg5cbay4jxQ05NbnEFKM1Lfb1alkupRqQGG-46Oq_tQ_xFHvnBhYwbKxv9mHOoFpR__uA/s400/C360_2011-11-13+05-58-24.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">This thing really hurt me.. -_-'' had this on my left hand at the beginning, then changed to left leg and lastly to my right hand.</div><br />
Initially after the surgery, I felt something stuck in my throat, the 'something' is like a big piece of apple. That feeling makes me hard to swollen the food. Due to that reason, I slimmed down a lot. So, is that considered a good news for a girl as we always shouted loudly 'I want to SLIM DOWN', and I just slim down without putting on much efforts. Too bad I didn't take any photo on that time because I looked sxxx at that moment.<br />
<br />
During the first day after my surgery, I was laying on bed the whole day. Nurses helped me to wipe my body. It was the first time in my life being naked in front of strangers and being 'touched' by them. Sigh...It was terribly embarrassing. To my future husband, sorry, you are no longer the first one who touched me! The next day, I learned to walk with the assistance of nurses. Again, first time in my life learned to walk after being an adult. Then, the third day, I was discharged. Surprise? ^^ The feeling of leaving hospital was like getting out from the jail. Hooray~<br />
<br />
Now I am resting at home and I need to go back to the hospital for my followup check up as per schedule. At the early stage after my surgery, I still have to wear my collar all the time. 2 weeks after the surgery, doctor removed the stitches on my neck. I was allowed to remove my collar at home after another 2 weeks. According to the doctor, I should be able to say good bye to the collar with another month time. Oh, looking forward to the day!!!<br />
<br />
p/s: Another symptom of getting well is gaining weight, and yes, I am keep on putting on weight now. Help!!<br />

It can be sunny day for the whole morning and suddenly it change to rainy day in the afternoon. The temperature difference can up even to 10°C in the same day. Some describe that weather in New Zealand is just like the mood of a lady, change unpredictable.<br />
<br />
Therefore, as a backpacker, we must always be prepared. Prepare a jacket (or even more) with us all the while especially when we are travelling is a must!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ymFne3Z_vkOAFEVn_5we6RCMMACjBtHmC2LUQXXu8V6rukPnSR85C57lsJtOHJaskciDWZDmS0D4DcdoIdUUr5VE-lZ8vLVb71ZjL-ZYsUOH9JDM4cscdjYvnF0djSDIkx_WUHAv8Gs/s1600/IMG_1712.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ymFne3Z_vkOAFEVn_5we6RCMMACjBtHmC2LUQXXu8V6rukPnSR85C57lsJtOHJaskciDWZDmS0D4DcdoIdUUr5VE-lZ8vLVb71ZjL-ZYsUOH9JDM4cscdjYvnF0djSDIkx_WUHAv8Gs/s400/IMG_1712.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Clear weather on one side and cloudy on the other side. So weird...</div><br />
<u>Spring/ Autumn</u><br />
During this weather, basically you just need a jacket with you. During early spring or late autumn, you might need to wear 3 layers of clothes. The outer piece should be a wind proof jacket. Besides, scarf is one of the necessity as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWSQL27mhn4ud9ERh1_dBKc09ySkWyTvwLUOlMlyfPtf2YXcnztVf0qLzNMYg4WXFm9FkCKQiig0UvYTKn6Xm6sHy0B8HF4ZQNiAFtO9INiyXTArPS-3O5Je44s-n-UhVlBjtb94JVJoA/s1600/IMG_0618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWSQL27mhn4ud9ERh1_dBKc09ySkWyTvwLUOlMlyfPtf2YXcnztVf0qLzNMYg4WXFm9FkCKQiig0UvYTKn6Xm6sHy0B8HF4ZQNiAFtO9INiyXTArPS-3O5Je44s-n-UhVlBjtb94JVJoA/s400/IMG_0618.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Autumn in Auckland City</div><br />
<u>Summer</u><br />
We are from summer country, I guess I don't need to say much on this weather. However summer in New Zealand is slightly cold than Malaysia. Average temperature 20°C ++<br />
<br />
<u>Winter</u><br />
When I was in New Zealand, I was able to experience the autumn, winter and spring. I personally felt that winter is really a horrible season because it simply tooooooooooooooo cold!!!! When it was real cold, I just had a blank mind and couldn't concentrate on anything. My brain got stucked probably it freeze became a big piece of ice... The saddest part was electricity cost in New Zealand is damn high and heater couldn't been switched on all the time. To beat the coldness, my highest record was having up to 6 clothes with me! Yes!<br />
<br />
6 = Long John + normal shirt + marino + long sleve shirt + jacket + wind proof jacket.<br />
<br />
Yet I still can feel the coldness. -_-''<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO-XsuDiwABwa49W_pg6KC3ISIdI9l8QhWi57nWy5vavsby5r8HVdi0vH_QI5wIy1LB-7BaPLCxZ3S5U5jpUIYX7wEFz7XhnSgH375bEfFMosXtZVnNgqln1odO-OWW3wW8JzYJVgs-Dc/s1600/IMG_2866.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO-XsuDiwABwa49W_pg6KC3ISIdI9l8QhWi57nWy5vavsby5r8HVdi0vH_QI5wIy1LB-7BaPLCxZ3S5U5jpUIYX7wEFz7XhnSgH375bEfFMosXtZVnNgqln1odO-OWW3wW8JzYJVgs-Dc/s400/IMG_2866.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">typical walking <i>bak chang </i>(dumpling) in Thames</div><br />
Oh ya, remember to bring at least one pair of wool socks. Wear it when you sleep definitely keep you warm.<br />
__________________________________________________________________________________<br />
Wondering what should bring from Malaysia and what should buy in New Zealand?<br />
<br />
<u>Long John/ Thermal Wear</u><br />
If you stay in New Zealand during late autumn/ winter/ early spring time, remember prepare at least one set of long john with you. It's not easy to get a suitable size of long john in New Zealand. I bought a long john pant in NZ and the pant is quite long for me... <strike>perhaps i'm too short??</strike> With the height of 159cm, I think I have the average height of asian lady. So, I think it'll be better to bring it from Malaysia instead of buying in New Zealand. Cost wise? It's almost the same because long john is selling a set in malaysia (top + pant) for RM100-200 and it was sold in New Zealand average NZD30-40 one piece (only top or only bottom).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqdKBjWupEnh3W6rc9a9tvdK0unOKBgdoL-ZJVwvB5vpyPRzYisxD2ZKP3AbuX59Wt36iSe-0knj0Dm2jPqdvhjjSh5RUtxR3dnJePodLm7jCYReDSqWHKgxLA7dRBhWz21gqdCYM2gM0/s1600/IMG_6834.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqdKBjWupEnh3W6rc9a9tvdK0unOKBgdoL-ZJVwvB5vpyPRzYisxD2ZKP3AbuX59Wt36iSe-0knj0Dm2jPqdvhjjSh5RUtxR3dnJePodLm7jCYReDSqWHKgxLA7dRBhWz21gqdCYM2gM0/s400/IMG_6834.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<u>Wind proof jacket</u><br />
Clothes like wind proof jacket can buy in New Zealand. Wind proof jacket is very important because most of the time we feel cold is due to the wind but not the low temperature. One way to save our money is~ buy clothes at kid department!!! Don't laugh at this, it's not easy to get a suitable size in adult department. Again, I *thick face* have an average body size and most of the time I am wearing S size in Malaysia.
